Unstoppable Domains Launches Browser to Boost a Decentralized Web
Opening the Doors to Decentralized Websites
With the new browser, the public can access information without being censored by any governing authority and regulated by any middleman or mediating organization.
Similar to a .com domain, users now can view decentralized websites by simply typing a .crypto domain.
Matthew Gould, the CEO of Unstoppable Domains, referred to the new product by stating:
“We believe that a decentralized web is critical for protecting free speech around the world. The Unstoppable Blockchain Browser is the first browser that makes visiting decentralized websites as easy as a traditional .com website. All browsers should embrace the decentralized web.”
Blockchain Domains are Superior to Regular Domains
The main advantage of blockchain domains come in the form of no one being able to custody these sites excepting for the owner.
Since there is no third party involved in storing the domains, no one can move the domain or seize it if the storage is decentralized as well.
Blockchain domains can serve as a payment gateway for crypto payments allowing people on over the world to be able to use Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, or any other altcoins for immediately transferring funds at a very low cost.
These domains can power censorship-resistant websites, so users or website visitors can store and share websites with a p2p network that no single entity control or meddle with.
Internet Censorship Affects Cryptocurrency Adoption
The adoption of cryptocurrency is being effected by internet censorship as governments have tracked and blocked the operations of blockchain-based companies, crypto trading platforms, and crypto information sources via the internet.
Some users have also accused Youtube to be censoring content in promoting cryptocurrencies while Facebook has been taking down posts and banning advertisements sponsoring content related to crypto.
However, internet censorship is promoted by governments and groups under the reasoning that it enables the filtration and control of sensitive and harmful content, such as fake news, political propaganda, pornography, child exploitation, and more.
