Facebook and Instagram to adopt NFTs. Will Azuki founder run away from his current project like he did three others? Madonna and Beeple birth something into the NFT space while CryptoPunks crash. And we finally have an Otherside trailer for you, just in time for Veecon. Let’s get into some NFT Alpha goodness…

NFTs are making their Instagram debut this week as Meta prepares a pilot test with a small number of “NFT enthusiasts in the US.” Instagram will support Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Flow blockchain NFTs and various popular NFT wallets so they can verify ownership. Users will be able to create NFT profile pictures, share the art, and tag the creators. They’ll also be able to use the NFTs in the Metaverse. All of this will supposedly be free versus Twitter, which originally made users pay to use NFTs as their profile picture. But just remember guys, nothing is actually free…

Our generous overlord, Mr. Zuckerberg, previously stated a desire to even allow users to mint NFTs on the platform, potentially bringing billions of new users into the space.

As of the first quarter of 2022, Facebook had Two Point Nine Three Billion users. And Instagram came in with over a Billion users. Hyped that Flow will be one of the networks available on Instagram, Dapper Labs CEO, Roham Gharegozlou, said on Twitter that “Social media integrations will be game-changers for NFTs like NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, and UFC Strike –– letting billions of users show off and eventually trade assets seamlessly.” Will Instagram and Facebook NFT platforms bring mass adoption to the NFT space? Or will this blow up in Zuckerberg’s face like that time he tried to launch his own currency? Let us know in the comments below!

And Azuki founder, “Zagabond” received a major Twitter lashing this week when they revealed they previously walked away from three failed projects: Tendies, CryptoPhunks, and CryptoZunks. While most of the Twitterverse were sympathetic to “Zagabond”’s explanation that they learned from those projects, and that knowledge made Azuki successful. Many in the NFT community were ready to burn them at the stake, accusing them of rug-pulling and pretending to be female to better market CryptoZunks, along with other misdeeds.

“Zagabond” finally issued an apology, “I realized my shortcomings in how I handled the prior projects which I started. To the communities I walked away from, to Azuki holders, and to those who believed in me — I’m truly sorry.”

Madonna, teamed up with Beeple to launch a series of NFTs, Mother Of Creation, showing an avatar of the Sixty Three Year Old pop singer… giving birth… to various symbolic images…. A tree, butterflies, mechanical centipedes. You name it and Madonna’s giving birth to it…

On a more existential level, I’m giving birth to art and creativity, and we would be lost without both,” Madonna said. The NFTs went to auction on SuperRare on Wednesday with proceeds going to National Bail Out, V-Day, and Voices of Children. We’ll see if Madonna can pull some profits out of her… *cough cough* NFT auction, despite the bear market.

Because unfortunately, NFTs are strugglesville right now… A CryptoPunk was actually sold at an Eighty Six Percent Loss on Sunday. Ouch… In October, this same CryptoPunk sold for over a million dollars and on Sunday, it sold for just under One Hundred and Forty Thousand Dollars.

CryptoPunks was one of the original NFT projects that gained popularity in 2021, but since then, it’s fallen from grace. Even the team behind Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs, which purchased CryptoPunks back in March, has done little to boost CryptoPunks’ popularity. They’re probably wondering if they’ve been punked…

But on the bright side, Yuga Labs released their tech demo for Otherside, the metaverse where Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs will become playable RPG avatars. With the tech demo, the company put out an intriguing tweet, “Fragments of an Obelisk have washed ashore in the Biogenic Swamp. Voyagers, your Otherdeed is your key to helping build the Otherside metaverse. As we reassemble the Obelisk together, the Otherside comes to life” and a link to their new website. Otherdeed holders aka Voyagers can harvest artifacts, Kodas, and various resources from their land, potentially being able to trade or sell them on an open marketplace. “Otherdeeds are dynamic NFTs that contain all of the game elements. Each Otherdeed comes with a set of resources and some include a Koda or more.” Crypto Times explained.

Since the website and demo launch, fans have sung the Otherside’s praises and continued to share pictures of their Otherside land. Some are even creating guilds. And in turn, Ape Coin responded, becoming one of the few coins in the green on Thursday.

And finally, Veecon Tickets are still for sale. Veecon describes itself as “A first of its kind Web3 conference built around NFTs, Pop Culture, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Innovation.” Sponsored by the likes of Coinbase, Gala Games, and Pepsi, Veecon promises “a star studded lineup” that includes Beeple, Snoop Dogg, and many more NFT investors, artists, and enthusiasts. Veecon will be held May Nineteenth through Twenty-Second in Minneapolis.

That’s all I got. Deezy out!
