KuCoin Introduces Nigerian Naira to P2P Fiat Trade
Users in Nigeria are Now Able to Buy USDT and BTC Using the Nigerian Naira
According to an announcement from its official Twitter, the popular Singapore-based cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin has launched a peer-to-peer fiat trade using the NGN/USDT and NGN/BTC pairs.
To take advantage of these two trading pairs on the KuCoin’s P2P platform, users will have to complete the verification process before accessing these fiat currencies trades.
The Nigerian Naira is the first African fiat currency that the exchange has offered support for on the continent.
KuCoin also announced in a blog post that the newly added crypto-fiat pairs are currently available for trading on the exchange’s P2P trade platform with support for other cryptocurrencies being planned
Nigeria Is a Hotspot Market for Crypto Exchanges
Binance, one of Kucoin’s competitors, was the first global cryptocurrency exchange to enter the Africa market by supporting the Nigerian Naira and other African fiat currencies.
‘The People’s Exchange’, as KuCoin is known to many, will be looking to spread its services into other parts of the African market following the growing interest in cryptocurrencies.
As the Nigerian market is arguably the number one hotspot for cryptocurrency in Africa, the country has become a fertile place attracting numerous global cryptocurrency exchanges that have seen Peer-to-Peer cryptocurrency trading in Nigeria as a popular choice among crypto users.
According to the recent stats from the crypto data analytics website UseFulTulips, Nigeria takes the highest spot for P2P trading volume in Africa, which is not surprising as Nigeria is one of the top five countries with the most bitcoin searches on Google.
