Brave and Guardian Partner to Bring Users a Better Browsing Experience
Brave Browser allows users to browse the internet privately and securely without compromising speed by offering ads and tracking blocking features to reduce the amount of information that needs to be retrieved and loaded. Two Leaders in Data Privacy are Joining Forces
Privacy is a growing concern for netizens as news of government surveillance, hacking, and security risks increase by the day resulting in private information being leaked and stolen.
Most internet users are not aware that their every move is being tracked by companies like Facebook and Google in the way of cookies and intrusive ads that use their data to target a specific user’s interests.
Brave and Guardian are companies that have been leaders of the data privacy moment, giving control back to users over their personal information and data by taking it away from companies that sell it as a product to the highest bidder.
Brave does this by providing its users with features and tools to take control over their browsing experience by blocking trackers and ads, allowing them to use their cryptocurrencies in an integrated fashion, and stopping fingerprinting.
Guardian, on the other hand, focuses on security and privacy by creating several tools such as its Guardian Firewall + VPN, which blocks attempts to gather information on a device and its location as well as preventing malicious connections.
Web Browsing can Never be Safe Enough
With new day-zero exploits and vulnerabilities being found every day, keeping information secure by using a free antivirus and secure passwords is not enough as any malicious piece of code could be a potential attack vector.
Brave knows this and the partnership with Guardian is a result of that knowledge as hiding your device’s identity and IP address is an essential part of protecting your system’s security.
Using a VPN adds another layer of protection in the form of IP-masking, data encryption, and monitoring of traffic for secret data broadcasting while keeping the user’s identity hidden even from Guardian and Brave.
Brendan Eich, CEO, and co-founder of Brave Software referred to the selection of Guardian for this partnership by stating that:
“We evaluated over a dozen VPNs and chose Guardian because of the shared focus on user privacy of our two companies and the technical capabilities of the Guardian. The Firewall + VPN is a crucial part of the Web experience that our users have wanted, and we’re thrilled to bring this capability to Brave.”
The Firewall + VPN is a premium feature that offers more protection than free. It is available for $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year for iPhone and iPad users as an In-App Purchase.
