Blockchain Firm Xage Security Helps Build Satellite Data System For USA
The US Space Force (USSF) has announced the recruitment of Xage Security to support the creation of a data system for the new USG agency.
Xage Security, a blockchain-focused firm in Silicon Valley, will work under the direction of the USSF and the US Air Force Research Lab to develop the data connection between satellites and ground stations based on blockchain.
Xage Security is Getting a Major Opportunity
Xage will create a system that connects each node on the network which will be verified by blockchain technology to ensure the strictest protection and transparency.
In addition, the Security Fabric system is also able to identify hidden issues when establishing the connection between the space and ground stations.
Before this collaboration with the USSF, Xage Security built infrastructure for oil and gas suppliers, utilizing blockchain technology to allow each oil pad to operate both individually and in a team.
The similarity in those industries is that oil pads or satellites keeps moving, which raises a challenge for ground stations that need to instantaneously determine whether collected data and images are intact and correct.
Blockchain is a Good Fit
The technology will enable the capability for instant verification and decision making, thanks to that, hundreds of questions could be answered and executed in just a second.
Duncan Greatwood, Xage’s CEO, affirmed his optimism about this project. He believes that blockchain technology could tighten the entire protection and reduce attacks on the network.
The new recruitment of Xage Security comes together with the bigger strategy called Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR).
This event is part of a wider effort to cybersecurity for USG operations – based on blockchain applications. Previously, an Indiana blockchain firm was nominated to conduct protection solutions for sensitive research data for the US Defense Department.
